Our story
See how our company, founded 35 years ago, has become a family business over the years. Opposite: Geneviève Dostaler seated (right) at her booth at her very first Montreal Arts and Crafts Show, in 1977.
Geneviève Dostaler is a company that was founded in Montreal in the 1970s. Geneviève Dostaler, its creator, studied design at the École Nationale des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in the late 1960s. It is from this experience that she gets her sense of colour and her love of fabrics.
Returning to Montreal in the mid-seventies, she decided to concentrate her artistic work on children's clothing and then on fashion accessories. She first entered the Salon des Métiers d'Art de Montréal in 1977.

Over the decades, Geneviève has participated in prestigious shows in Canada, the United States and Europe. Geneviève had great success with her children's hats and accessories in the 90's. The harshness of our winter climate has always inspired her to design hats and scarves that protect, warm and enhance the face.

Over the years, Geneviève has been able to pass on her know-how and passion for millinery to her son, Olivier Dostaler, who joined the company over ten years ago. With his remarkable sense of marketing and sales, Olivier proved to be the ideal person to take over and raise the company.
It is with great joy that Olivier and Geneviève meet their customers at the various trade fairs in which the family business participates year after year.
